Felipe Massa F1 Race Used & Signed Helmet
This Felipe Massa helmet, made by Bieffe was race used during the 2002 Formula One season and in particular at the Hungarian Grand Prix held at the Hungaroring. Felipe was entered by Sauber Petronas in the Sauber C21. He qualified seventh, ahead of his more experienced teammate Nick Heidfeld. He finished in the same position in the race and thirteenth overall in the championship.
This unusual matte painted helmet has been signed and dated “2002” on the side of the helmet in silver marker.
Brazilian Massa very nearly won the 2008 Formula One World Championship driving for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, narrowly missing out by one point, with Lewis Hamilton overtaking Timo Glock on the very last lap of the championship. Following his debut year in 2002, Massa made two hundred and sixty nine starts, racing for Sauber, Ferrari and finally Williams.
